The Caribbean Association of Insurance Regulators (CAIR) in partnership with the Caribbean Regional
Technical Assistance Centre (CARTAC) and the Financial Services Commission (FSC), hosted its annual
Conference and Workshop on June 19-21, 2017 under the theme: “Enhancing Financial Sector
Supervision and Stability: Implementing A Risk-based Capital Regime” at the Jamaica Pegasus in
Kingston, Jamaica. The annual conference provided an important forum for participants to develop
skills, share various experiences and strengthen their knowledge of regulatory best practices, as
member jurisdictions strive to comply with internationally accepted standards. This is with a view to
move towards harmonization of the region’s insurance supervisory framework. Participants from 16
Caribbean jurisdictions were in attendance.
