Financial literacy and inclusion are important components to the development of Jamaica and the realization of Vision 2030. The Financial Services Commission believes that it is our duty to be champions of the efforts to promote stakeholder confidence in the financial sector through effective capacity building. This is embodied in our Schools’ Financial Education Programme, where students in secondary education are exposed to key financial concepts and practices that will inform sound financial decision making in the future!
This curriculum is geared to build a comprehensive understanding not only of the concepts of money, saving, budgeting and credit, but also to introduce our youth to important financial institutions that help to promote integrity, stability and fairness in the financial industry; the FSC along with the Bank of Jamaica, the Jamaica Stock Exchange and the Jamaica Deposit Insurance Company.
If you are interested in learning more about financial literacy, inclusion, the content or the programme itself, feel free to contact us via email inquiry@fscjamaica.org or give us a call at (876) 906-3010-2!
The Financial Services Commission, promoting integrity in the Jamaican financial sector!
